Bligh Work Experience - Shows The Real Life Inexperience

Amazed am I, though I know I shouldn't be, with the decision of the Bligh Government to send its Ministers out to 'Work Experience'. ...WHAT????

With a great deal of head shaking this decision by Anna Bligh to send her Ministers out to 'real jobs' entrenches my belief that our communities need to really reassess what we have, or rather who we have, to govern us at State and Federal Levels.

The message that Premier Anna is really sending out to the community,  is that non of her Ministers have ever held a 'real' job.   Further, that by spending one day/shift as a Hospital Orderly, or Club Waiter they will truly understand what it means to be a 'worker' in this great State of Queensland.

We need to remember that Minister Lucas and the Premier could not come to agreement on what it really means to work in Hospitality.  Lucas thought that because the 'hospitality' had the word 'hospital.' in it he was off to serve patients their meals, however he was overridden by Anna and brought him to the real world and told him he was working in a 'Club'.  So therefore they don't know the difference between a hospital bed pan and poker machine.

Seriously though, remember that in my 1st 2010 Edition of A Personal View I wrote:

The first is the 20/30 year olds  who have risen straight from school to university politics then through natural osmosis to party intern, through junior then senior posts within Ministerial offices.  Following a successful period in the mainly testosterone filled environment,  they are preselected to a safe seat, of either party.

The second are those that are parachuted into positions because of the past sporting or other community achievements and therefore are beholden to the machine for their existence and would not contemplate risking their 'comfy existence' by rocking their gravy boat.  I can count on one hand the amount of 'ordinary' folk that I have personally known who have gained pre- selection for political seats and then gone on to have won their seats.  Most 'ordinary folk' whom  are preselected are done so into seats that have a real 'no show' at winning, they are encouraged, cojouled through promises of future gains or through some false party 'loyalty'.  Remembering that the 'Party Loyalty' is built up through the pyramid sales approach of riches at the end of the rainbow that all party's 'promise' their brethren.

This most recent debacle only goes to highlight the fact that all Party machines have let the people of Queensland down and most pollies in Government are drawn from long term party loyalists and not from 'real' community people whom have had long term grass roots experience/careers that understand their communities.  This attempt proves that most Government Ministers have NO idea of what it means to 'work' at a 'real' job day after day with low wages, and to deal with every day issues.

This attempt by Bligh to somehow try and show her lawyer/accountant/party loyalist Ministers as something other than they are, apart from removed from their towers, for me, has only entrenched my belief that we need some true independents made up of real people, drawn from real communities to be elected to Govern.

This is my personal view.
