Rebuilding The Future

With the long term task of rebuilding our communities, in all areas of our social, human and physical capital.  Governments at all levels and all political parties, in bipartisan cooperation, need to positively and strategically plan in rebuilding our Nations future.  There are no doubt strategies being enacted currently that will assist with the current situations, and those that may occur in the near furture.  However it is the funding of these large scale operations that needs to be clearly articulated, discussed and put in place so that we are prepared to immediately enact, as required, the rebuilding of our communities future.

What should not be happening in the midst of the post crisis is our leaders arguing of how the reconstruction will occur.  The situation should not be that we are having the discussion on how the rebuilding is to be funded.  In this instance,  just do it now! I am sure that how is is funded can be worked out later.  The important issues are that the roads and bridges are built, peoples homes are repaired and rebuilt, that loved ones can be grieved over and that communities can get back to suppoting each other and through this the economics of it all will be worked through. We don't need the Abbott and Gillard ongoing duelling of who is right, who is wrong and scoring cheap political shots taking the focus off what is important.

This is my personal view.
